The first forum of solid waste treatment and resource recovery for village was held on August 17 in Ordos City. Representatives from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Development and Reform Commission of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the Ordos City Government, and other leaders and experts at home and abroad, business representatives, journalists and other media correspondents attended the meeting. This forum was hosted by the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences of CAS and chaired by the deputy director of the Yang Min, who is the deputy director of RCEES.

Before the forum began, a ceremony was held to unveil the RCEES industrial demonstration base. Officials from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region joined by Director of RCEES, academician Jiang Guibin in the ceremony.

This forum is of great significance to the understanding of the rural solid waste disposal and resource utilization, and to improve the living environment of villages and towns and the construction of ecological civilization.
